Herbert Hoover
Herbert Hoover was the 31st president of the United States. He was in office during the Great Depression. Most of the down falls, due to the Great Depression, were blamed on President Hoover by most of the working class in the 1920's. Although Hoover was regularly criticized for his laissez-faire approach to the Depression, in his memoirs, Hoover claims that he rejected Treasury Secretary Andrew Mellon's suggested "leave-it-alone" approach, and called many business leaders to Washington to urge them not to lay off workers or cut wages. In 1931 Hoover issued the Hoover Moratorium, calling for a one-year halt in reparation payments by Germany to France and in the payment of Allied war debts to the United States. The plan was met with much opposition, especially from France, who saw significant losses to Germany during World War I. The Moratorium did little to ease economic declines.
I can not determine if Hoover did cause the Great Depression to worsen; however, I can admit he did try to come up with reasonable theories to ease the transition such as the RFC (Reconstruction Finance Corporation) or the trickle -down economy. The RFC's initial goal was to provide government-secured loans to financial institutions, railroads and farmers. The RFC had minimal impact at the time because it was too little too late.

JFK
There have been stories told about who assassinated John F Kennedy for years. I have been told that he was killed because of his belief in truly freeing african americans. I have also been told that he was eliminated because he decided to get rid of the Federal Reserve Bank and start our own banking system, eliminating outside stockholders. What I want to know is what really happened. The United States House Select Committee on Assassination (HCSA) concluded that Kennedy may have been assassinated as a result of a conspiracy. The HSCA found the FBI investigation and the Warren Commission Report to be seriously flawed. The reason for his death is still unknown but the facts only give you something to think about. This investigation has really caught my attention and I am now compelled to further my education on his death.

I'm Ready
I have had some very inspirational words spoken to me by none other than Mrs. Day. At first as her, my mother and myself were speaking, I felt ashamed that I wasn't coming to class and doing what I should have. I felt as if Mrs. Day did not want me there when she suggested to my mother I drop her class. The truth is, the only reason i stayed at Sheffield was because I was looking forward to AP. My mother and I had planned on me attending central, but of course I changed my mind. Now as I attend class, I see myself slacking and not fulfilling my true potential. As Mrs. Day posted in her blog, The truth hurts for a little while but a lie hurts forever. I now see that it is mid-November and I have an F in her class. I'm writing this, reaching out for help. I believe there may still be time. Please have faith in me everyone!
Is Romney A Sore Loser?
For everyone in America who is not a millionaire, it’s a good thing Mitt Romney lost the election. During a conference call on Wednesday, Romney told a group of his campaign donors that the reason he lost was because he just couldn’t compete with all the free “gifts” Obama gave to “the African American community, the Hispanic community and young people. Romney has just implied that 1. Obama has nothing to offer the caucasion comunnity 2. Obama has not made promises for the better of our country, but has given freebies to win our people and 3. certain things we as a whole need, especially our high school graduates, such as college loans, are not important. Romney’s remarks had an especially bitter tone when it came to amnesty for the children of “illegals,” the “so-called Dream Act,” and health care for blacks and Hispanics. I for one am glad that I now have an opportunity to get the education I need to become something in life. Without college loans, how many of our graduates would actually go to college?

Importance of fine arts in schools
"What is the purpose of fine arts in school?" I hear this question all the time. Just as people come to school to learn things like starting their own business or becoming scientists, there are people who want to learn to act or sing. Fine arts is just as important to them as chemistry is important to a scientist. It is a subject that needs to be taught for our aspiring actors and actresses. Art is for our future artists, band for our future musicians, choir for our future singers, and theatre art for our future movie stars. It is the school's job to prepare our generation for our future careers. So tell me if you are still in doubt about it's importance.
